Terms and Conditions

Delivery 
To minimise the time in transit of our food products, orders will be processed within 72hrs of your order being placed (excluding weeskends) and delivery's made on weekdays between 8am and 6pm. Should an item be out of stock we will contact you via email to advise you of an "in stock" date. Where possible we will try to deliver on a requested specified day provided we have recieved at least 5 working day's notice in advance of the specified day.

We deliver by overnight courier for delivery to UK mainland addresses (excluding Highlands and Islands), at busy times of the year (such as Easter and Christmas) or when weather causes disruption delivery can take longer. Please ensure that someone is available to receive, sign for your order, and to put it in a cool place if it is a chilled product such as cheese. If this is not possible, you may at your own risk request us to ask the courier to leave your order in a secure location (choose a cool location if chilled items). If so, we can not accept any responsibility for the condition of the goods or non receipt. Any delay in despatch and/or delivery for whatsoever reason shall not be claim for consequential loss.

Packing and Postage

Postage is charged at a flat rate for UK mainland delivery of £9.99 whatever the size of the order. We regret that at this moment we are unable to send products overseas. Local delivery in the following postcodes SP6, SP5, SP1, BH21, BH24 is free of charge providing the value of the order is over £25

Prices

Prices quoted are specified as being by weight or by unit and include all taxes applicable to sales in the UK. Delivery is charged at the specified rate on check out. We reserve the tight to alter any prices or specifications at any time without notice.

Payment

Payment must be recieved by us before an order is processed. We accept payment via PayPal - either using a paypal account or credit or debit card.

Cutting and weights

When cutting cheese we always endeavour to get as close as possible to the quantity ordered. If we go 'under' on one item we will try and make up for it on another. The same is true for whole individual cheeses - as they are handmade all weights are approximate, a 'whole truckle' described as 250g could be more or less than that.

Substitution and Returns Policy
From time to time a particular product may not be available- in this case we may substitute something we consider to be equally good or even better. Every care is taken to ensure that product descriptions are as acurate as possible.

Please notify us within 24 hours of your expected delivery date if you have not received your order or are unhappy with it in any way. Should you wish to return a product or have not received your order, please contact us on 01425 653780.

Many of the products that we sell are perishable and may therefore not be required to be returned to us after delivery. Products which are required to be returned will be returned at the customers expense and, provided they are returned in good condition within 10 working days of original receipt, a credit will be issued for the price paid. If they are not so returned, we may arrange for collection of the goods and any costs incurred by us will be deducted from any refund.

The points above do not affect your statutory rights.

Cancellation of Order
Nelson's Delicatessen reserves the right not to accept or to cancel once accepted any order, without penalty. The customer may cancel an order without penalty only before we have processed it.
 
Risk
Risk of damage or deterioration to the goods supplied passes to the buyer on delivery. No claim for damage or deterioration after delivery can be accepted.

Pilferage and Damage
We can only accept claims for pilferage or damage if written notification is given to both the carriers and ourselves within three days of receipt of goods. If delivery is made by carriers please always sign for the goods “unexamined” and retain the outer wrappings for examination by the carrier. If delivery is made on our own transport, the consignment should be checked and signed for accordingly.

Contract Terms
We shall supply goods only on the condition that these terms and conditions represent the entire agreement between ourselves and our customers and these conditions superseded any prior agreement or arrangement.
